14-Year-Old Entrepreneur Pays For Her Own College Education
“My name is Taylor, and I am a small business owner. I started a small business called TayKaye’s when I was only fourteen years old. TayKaye’s is a custom, handmade jewelry, and accessory business. I go to local farmer’s markets, shows, and boutiques every year. TayKaye’s has helped me build strong relationships to assemble great communities. The community has helped support my local dreams by shopping local and helping me grow my business. Being an entrepreneur has benefited me by applying for contests and scholarships. I was able to win the Kidz Biz contest at Layton Hills Mall in 2015 and won the Kool Kids/Teen Startup contest at Salt Lake City in 2016. I even got a scholarship for becoming an ambassador for the Weber State Entrepreneurs Association. With the local support of my business, I was able to pay for my college tuition and buy my first car to drive to campus. I don’t know where I’d be today without the community to help support and buying local for my business. Thank you to those that support and shop locally!”
