My Local Utah Story
We started this project in March 2020 to help small businesses. As a nonprofit, we are working with economic development departments in a few states focused on economic recovery for local companies near and dear to my heart. 10 Reasons to buy local | MY LOCAL UTAH
I come from a long line of small business owners in my family.
My grandfather owned a grain mill, and my other grandparents owned the heating and propane company in a tiny Idaho town.
When I was in high school, my parents started a small old-fashioned restaurant sacrificing their life savings to start their own business. I had my first job at the age of 14 and started my own business after working three jobs to get through college, bound and determined to put myself through college in 1999 at 23 years old.
In my family, we always worked right along with attending school.
Fast Forward twenty-five-plus years; as a wife, a mom, and small storefront business owner now for over 22 years, it is our passion, or maybe it’s in our blood.
I genuinely believe in our community, our local businesses, giving back, and bringing that together, I always have, and now it is more important than ever.
I’m blessed. Our small staff of 15 in our office is incredibly passionate about helping others; we all live, work, and raise our families with you here in Utah.
